Ride....and a SURPRISE!

Tonight was our first OFFICIAL family bike ride!  It was great!  We recently got both kiddos a new bike for their birthday's and David got a new bike for our anniversary...and then he got me one on Craigslist!  We've had them all for over a month, and we finally had the chance tonight (now that we all have nice new helmets) to go for a ride.  Maddie did NOT want to go along with this because she was completely convinced she wouldn't be able to do it.  I was so impressed with her, though, once she got the hang of it...she did AMAZING!  We managed to make it all the way to the old orchard (1.8 miles or so) and back.  Not too bad for our first ride---no crashes involved (which is more impressive if you could see how "spastic" the kids were at times...cutting right in front of each other and David & I.  This is our new "family fun" activity!  Hopefully it is just as fun from here on out.  From the one who had tears because she didn't want to go...came the words...."Can we go on another bike ride tomorrow?".....less than five minutes after we got home! 

Now...for a post that is a few days late...we received quite a surprise Sunday night---a new PUPPY!  Not one from a pet store, or the humane society...but literally a BRAND NEW puppy, born right in Maddie's bedroom--yeah, we had to wash that pillow--yuck!! 
Our pet Yorkies we received a little over a month ago (A boy and girl, 3 years old), were evidently more than we bargained for---since we had no idea that the girl was expecting!  So anyway, we were able to google the process, (once we figured out what was going on)...and thanks to the internet, we have a healthy little boy Yorkie!
(A puppy for Nana...)  The name is still....unknown.  The kiddos and Nana will have to get to that later...He'll be with us for 3 months, then the big move to Arkansas!!

A New Start...

So...since it's been nearly TWO YEARS since I posted on this blog...ridiculous.

I have decided that due to my lack of organization, time, and attention to documenting the milestones of Haston & Maddie, I must find a way to remember things that they say, do and just the moments of our lives that matter.  Therefore, I am going to ATTEMPT to return to blogging about our lives, simply so we can look back at it later, and have something to remember the moments that took place while our lives were full of work, home, grad school, kid's school, gymnastics, baseball...etc, etc...

I can't believe that I have a FIRST GRADER and a THIRD GRADER.  Where does the time go?  I had someone ask me, just this week...how old are your kids, and I was baffled by the answer.  That is so weird!  I can't believe that they are already that big!  Our lives have been so full, that they've turned into real KIDS... :)  (Like Haston told us in April when we were getting ready for his 8th birthday...he is no longer in his childhood...so matter of fact...he is now in his kidhood. That's what 8-year olds are...KIDS.)  That's one thing I definitely will NOT want to forget.  It was adorable.  And that is precisely why I am doing this...I want to remember the adorable moments.  I am blessed with an amazing family, and two unbelievable children.  I do not want to take one moment of our lives for granted.
